Precision compass for testing magnetism

Made of anodized aluminum. Jewelled model sapphire on hardened steel point. Engraved dial Ø 13 mm.

Principle: An object is magnetized when one end of the compassneedle is attracted and the other repelled by it. If the needle is attracted at both ends, there is no magnetism.
